In 2002, a group of South African data-warehousing experts set out on a mission to solve a client problem, made up of three challenges:
• How can the business risk of using email for business transactions be
• mitigated?
• How can a company retain its electronic records in such a way that they are
• securely stored in the long term, yet easily accessible?
• How can all this be done to ensure the integrity of both processes and
• records is retained in the event of legal challenge?
In solving these challenges, NAXiAN MessageTracker was born, and became the first South African email archiving solution to provide scalability and robustness, while maintaining an intuitive and elegant interface.
Since 2002, the rapidly expanding digital universe has meant increasingly complex statutory frameworks for data management, for example the Sarbanes Oxley Act (USA), the Data Protection Act (UK) and South Africa's Electronic Communications & Transactions Act. Secure records management and archiving is not merely an IT concern anymore, it is corporate governance imperative for executive management.
NAXiAN Digital Management Solutions (Pty) Ltd was established in 2006 to offer technology and compliance solutions to South African and international businesses. Our offering includes records and content management software, compliance advice, technology-based forensic investigations, information portal design and technical support and maintenance. Interesting fact
Our company logo and name represents the Naxian Sphinx, a mythological creature that acted as gate keeper to the city of Thebes and required passers-by to answer the classic riddle: “What goes on four legs in the morning, on two legs at noon, and on three legs in the evening?” The answer is of course, Man, who crawls on all fours as a baby, walks on two legs as an adult, and walks with a cane in old age.
